Fundraising

Each year, Chickering families generously donate to fund Dover PTO programs.  To simplify for our families the act of giving, the Fundraising committee has streamlined its annual solicitations to:

• Easy Money for Chickering
• Product sales and/or community event
• Check writing campaign (every other year)
• Spring auction event (every other year)

As the Dover PTO is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization, contributions (in excess of the fair market value of the goods or services received in return) are tax deductible.  Donation receipts indicating our taxpayer ID number will be provided in circumstances where a tax deduction may be claimed.

Easy $ for Chickering
Without changing our habits and for very little effort, we can earn some “easy money” for our school!  Several companies offer incentive programs for collecting or buying their products:

• Box Tops for Education – clip the pink boxes and send them into school. $0.10 for each one adds up quickly!
• Target’s Take Charge of Education
• Shaw's
• EcoPhones
• Upromise

Product sales and community events
Product sales and community events vary from year-to-year.  Past and current successful programs include: 

• Spirit Wear, including Chickering tee shirts, sweatshirts, raglans and flannel PJ bottoms.
• Innisbrook premium gift wrap
• Original Works, an art-based fundraiser that will celebrate our children’s creativity by turning their artwork into products the family can wear or share.
• A visit from the Harlem Wizards who transform the D-S high school gymnasium with twirls, swirls and spinning balls as they play basketball against teachers, parents, and community members.

Check writing campaign
Our check writing campaigns fund classroom/teacher support, curriculum enrichment programs, community building efforts as well as additional grants to keep Chickering state-of-the-art. Our campaigns reach out to all families to invest in their children and help fund these very important needs.  100% Participation is our goal. 

Spring auction event
Every other year, the Chickering community unites for a big bash to raise money for Chickering programs including classroom/teacher support, curriculum enrichment programs, community building events and grants.  An incredible team of parents organize this memorable evening.
