Dover PTO brings together Chickering families, teachers, and staff to support and strengthen our school community.
All current Chickering parents and legal guardians are members of Dover PTO, and there are many ways to participate throughout the year, from volunteering and attending events to supporting programs and fundraisers.
What We Do

Our work includes:

How Dover PTO Fits Into Chickering
Dover PTO works closely with Chickering administration, teachers, staff, and families, but it has a different role from other groups involved in the school.
The Dover School Committee (DSC), which works with the Dover-Sherborn Superintendent, to set all Chickering School policy and is responsible for academic excellence, financial responsibility, school administration and management, innovation, professional development, and community/parent satisfaction.
The School Advisory Council (SAC) assists the principal in adopting educational goals and developing the state-mandated School Improvement Plan. SAC brings together four educators, four parents and one community member to work with the Chickering principal to shape the school’s practices and programs.
