UPDATE: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the many families who have already generously given! Chickering’s PTO Check Writing Campaign 2017 has been a huge success so far! We have heard from so many of you who would still like to make a donation so we have extended the campaign until March 1st! To show our sincere appreciation we have entered everyone who has already given and will enter anyone who gives during Valentine's week into a raffle gift for an evening out at Nosh & Grog. We hope that everyone will join in our fundraising efforts and ensure that Chickering School will continue to be an outstanding place where children learn, laugh, grow, care, and Make a Difference.

Happy New Year! We look forward into 2017 with hope, optimism and gratefulness. How fortunate we are to live and educate our children in the Dover community! Our goal for 2017 is Making A Difference at Chickering! We return from winter break to exciting curriculum enrichment programs, highly qualified and dedicated teachers and state of the art teaching resources and equipment.
Your support is critical in maintaining the high standard learning environment, we all receive. Last year the Dover PTO held the successful Hollywood-themed Auction. For our major giving opportunity this year we invite you to participate in the Dover PTO’s Check Writing Campaign:
"The Big Night In!" This will be the event of the year! You are invited to stay home and relax with your family!
No need to make a hair appointment;
No reason to rush out and buy new shoes or a new dress;
No need to buy tickets;
No Uber to and from the big event; and
Just think of all the money you’ll save by participating in The Big Night In!
We are serious about maintaining the superior quality and high standard of education that Chickering School, provides for our children. The Dover PTO’s Total Operating Budget for the 2016-2017 school year is approximately $85,000.00. That allows us to spend about $175.00 per student! Please use this information as a guideline but consider giving whatever amount is appropriate for your family. Any contribution large or small will be gratefully accepted!
Where do your contributions go?
Approximately 45% goes to Curriculum Enrichment Programs. These programs bring authors, poets, artists, naturalists, musicians, historians and scientists into each classroom.
$200 per year is given to each faculty member at Chickering, to use at his/her discretion to enhance instruction.
$5,000 per year is given by the Dover PTO to fund larger scale, specific teacher grants. This allows our school to adapt to advances in curriculum, technology and the arts. We fund iPads, interactive whiteboards, robotics, Chromebooks, electronic spell checkers, musical instruments, sensory items and more!

The Dover PTO is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization. All contributions are 100% tax deductible (in excess of the fair market value of the goods or services received in return). Donation receipts will be provided in circumstances where a tax deduction may be claimed.
