CHECK WRITING CAMPAIGN
Dear Chickering School families,
While we have all been faced with radically altered lives, we are overwhelmed and humbled by the outpouring of resolve, resilience, and support for our children and schools. It is fitting that this year’s theme for the PTO is “We Rise By Lifting Others.”
We are grateful for all the ways parents have stepped up to provide meaningful programs, teacher support, and community building. Now we are asking for your financial support too. The primary PTO fundraiser this year is our Check Writing Campaign. The Dover PTO, Chickering School, and our young scholars need your support more than ever because the needs today are perhaps greater than they were during “normal” times. We are committed to supporting Chickering teachers and staff to help them provide optimal experiences for our children in the classroom, outside on Chickering grounds, and at home. Furthermore, the need is even greater because last year’s biggest in-person fundraiser was canceled due to the pandemic.
Your support is funding critical needs RIGHT NOW. The Dover PTO recently provided all teachers with document readers which allow them to share their written work with students while live-teaching remotely. We have also funded portable whiteboards so teachers can easily move instruction outside. Your support enables us to continue to fund the administration and teachers’ immediate needs while also providing our beloved yet reimagined curriculum enrichment programs, teacher hospitality, and community events.
We realize the financial challenges that families face and appreciate any contributions that you can provide. We are passionate about maintaining the superior quality of education that Chickering offers our children. With a total operating budget of $85,000, the PTO will spend approximately $175 per student this year. You may use this as a guideline, but please consider whatever support feels best to you during this time of need. Any support is greatly appreciated. We hope to achieve 100% family participation.

The Dover PTO is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible (in excess of the fair market value of the goods or services received in return). Donation receipts will be provided in circumstances where a tax deduction may be claimed.

Match Met! We recently told you that a very generous anonymous Chickering family would match your donations dollar for dollar up to $5,000, and in less than a week we've met that goal!
